Diego Party Decorations

diego party decorationsIf you’re looking for a no-fuss, no-muss way to decorate the party room for your Go, Diego, Go! birthday party, you can order the Diego party-in-a-box. It contains invitations, streamers, balloons and tableware for eight, all in a matching Diego theme.

For a great party room centerpiece, recreate the Animal Rescue Center for the kids to enjoy and play with. Ask your local appliance store whether they have any big boxes they can let you have, or buy a wardrobe box from a moving supply company. Cut a doorway and windows in the box, and paint the box yellow with a blue roof and blue trim. Write “Diego’s Animal Rescue Center” above the door, and you could also print out the Animal Rescue badge from the Nick Jr. website and glue it above the door.

If you’re going with a safari theme, you can dress the room up with inflatable palm trees or colorful, 6-foot palm tree cardboard cutouts. Cut safari animals out of big posterboard sheets and stick them up on the walls, or pick up some big safari animal wall decals or Diego Wall Decoration. You can also find very striking inflatable animals that may look great and be a fun toy for the kids to enjoy. The Nick Jr. website offers a free printable monkey-chain that you can color and decorate the room with. Have a coloring station ready as guests arrive and have them color the monkeys and then put them up around the room.

For a rainforest theme, twine light and dark-colored streamers together and wind them around chairs, tables, bookshelves, etc. Loop them over windows and doorframes and let them hang down like trailing vines. Cover the party snack table with a green paper tablecloth decorated with more streamers, and create a centerpiece of inflatable or cardboard cut-out jungle animals, such as monkeys, snakes, toucans and frogs. Cut leaves out of green construction paper and stick them all over the walls. Use a blue drop-cloth or inexpensive bedsheet or fabric remnant to create a rainforest pond in a corner of the room, and decorate it with lily pads and inflatable frogs. Add exotic parrot decals or cut-outs to the walls to complete the transformation.
